Kanji Cruncher: Grade 1, Lesson 16

Here we are, on the home stretch! Welcome to the final lesson of Grade 1 Kanji Cruncher! We've come so far, and it hasn't even taken that long to get here. Are you ready? がんばって  ください!

Today's Kanji:
糸 貝 雨 犬 耳

Click the link to see the lesson!

Meaning: thread
The top portion of this kanji looks like some thread that's been all twisted up, doesn't it? Don't worry, you only need a small amount.

     Radical:
     小 small

Meaning: shellfish
To me, this one looks like a shellfish with little feet-fins at the bottom.

Meaning: rain
Quite possibly the easiest kanji to remember. Doesn't it look exactly like raindrops hitting your window?

Meaning: dog
This kanji looks like a sleepy bulldog's face! See how he's got one eye open, looking at you?

Meaning: ear
If you use your imagination and try really, REALLY hard... maybe this looks like an ear? What can you come up with?

Great job! You now know the meanings to all 80 Grade 1 kanji! How does it feel? Are you proud of yourself? You should be. That was a big undertaking!

Soon we'll be starting Grade 2, so stay tuned! Don't forget to review what you've learned so far, though. Our next Kanji Cruncher post will be a special tool to help you do just that.

See you this weekend for our next Saturday Song!

またね!
